BiteBack visits Tesco

In August, the Youth Board were invited to visit Tesco at their head offices to meet some of the different departments, and workshop ways we can all work together to prioritise child health.

We met with various senior Tesco staff to hear how they’re growing their commitments to providing healthy and sustainable diets. We were shown some of their campus community initiatives, and learned about some of their existing apprenticeship and graduate schemes that support young people.

Dev Sharma, Bite Back Youth Board Co-chair joined the visit and afterwards said: “Tesco are receptive to our ideas and want to learn more about what we think of the food system and the greater responsibility we think brands and businesses have to change to the food system. It was a great visit and a really informative experience"

After last year’s successful partnership for our Feed Britain Better Youth Summit, this year Tesco will be co-sponsoring the 2021 Bite Back Youth Summit in October — we look forward to continuing to build our partnership work in the future.
